I grew up in Hawai’i. Hawaiian local culture has shaped my life and traditions in some big ways and in some seemingly little ways. In 2 weeks, my oldest baby graduates from high school and we’re throwing her a big Hawaiian-style graduation party. That means lots and lots of people will be at our house. In Hawai’i you never wear your shoes inside your house (or anyone else’s house). I’m pretty stressed out about all those guests trying to walk into my house with their shoes on. To be a good hostess, while still being welcoming and showing aloha to our guests, I whipped up a quick DIY remove your shoes sign.
Last summer while ordering labels for my office organization project, I discovered that I could design my own vinyl label at Kidecals and knew immediately that I wanted to make a remove your slippahs (shoes) sign.
