My family enjoys watching football together. It’s just our thing on the weekends. We’re always excited to watch the big game, whether our team is playing or not. I treasure the family time together.

I do what I can to make game day even more fun with treats and decorations. But let’s be honest. I’m a busy mom, like we all are. I don’t have time for complicated game watching recipes or decorations. I want our time together watching the game to be special, but I need the preparations to be easy to do.

Lucky for me, one of my family’s favorite snacks is my easy peanut butter dip recipe. It goes perfectly with apples, graham crackers and pretzels. This time I made the recipe even more fun by making it with Coca-Cola. My kids were so intrigued and impressed. Cue the big mom smile.

As much as I need my game day preparations to be quick and easy, I also want to wow my family and keep them hooked on spending family time together. It must be working, since we’re all looking forward to watching the big game together.

There’s nothing like a homemade family-favorite treat to remind my family how much I love them (yes, I’m a show love through mom-made treats and items kinda mom)

And having our family’s favorite soda is a must for our game day celebration. If you know us, you know we’re a Coca-Cola family. It’s a nostalgic treat for our family. I like being able to serve it to my family in bottles to add to the nostalgic memories

I like to make our family game day celebration even more fun by decorating cups and tablecloths with washi tape. It’s so easy to do and really makes a festive impact.

I was in the mood the other day to head to my local Dollar General Store. Are you ready for this? Where I live, it’s quickest for me to take a ferry to get to my Dollar General! And, no, I don’t live on an island. How cool is that? Yes, this is looking out my car windshield as a I took the ferry to go shopping. I’m still amazed every time I do it.

I knew that I could pick up items I needed for our family big game watching night at Dollar General. They have Coca-Cola and Coke Zero in all sizes of bottles. I even found these adorable 8.55 ounce bottles of Coca-Cola in addition to my favorite Coke Zero. Of course, I also  found cups, plates and other supplies for our family party there ( in addition to organizing baskets and a plant pot I really needed).

It’s easy to save money on all your big game watching supplies with the Dollar General app.
