Plaid or tartan has been a huge trend for this fall and winter. It’s a classic print, historically reserved for lumberjacks/cowboys and school-girls. However, in present times, winter plaids are a fun print that looks good on just about anything, from skirts to shoes to bags.
I’ve always loved plaid, especially because of its many variations. I like the longer length and fullness of this plaid skirt (Urban Outfitters) because it’s different than the typical plaid skirt. I kept the skirt the focal point of the outfit with a simple black crop top (American Apparel). In an attempt to elongate my legs (or just give me some height period) I paired black opaque tights with my chunky black heels (H&M). Ignoring the hair elastic on my wrist, my watch is from Urban Outfitters.
I love this plaid shirt because it’s comfortable and stylish, featuring a basic red plaid pattern and black leather collar. It’s a great way to mix up plaid. Today I paired it with a lightwash denim circle skirt (Amazon), slate blue textured tights (Target), and black lace up boots with gray boot socks, both from Modcloth.
