Mu husband adores Halloween.  He used to carve and paint pumpkins for Halloween even before we had children.  My children have inherited his love of pumpkin decorating and it’s always a big deal around our house.  My husband takes the kids out and everyone gets to choose their own pumpkins.  Then my husband decorates the pumpkins with my kids.  They all have a wonderful time together.

Last year though, my oldest daughter had a crazy-busy schedule and didn’t get to decorate her pumpkin until the day before Halloween.  She was disappointed that she’d only be able to enjoy her jack o’ lantern for a day or two because she got started on it so late.  I was sympathizing with her, when she suddenly had a light bulb moment. Bing!

Why not paint the pumpkin for both Halloween and for Thanksgiving.

So she did.

I thought that she found a brilliant solution.  I believe she plans on doing the same again this year, which makes me happy because then I can enjoy the decorations even longer.
