Sharing is caring!

I guess it’s because I miss my baby who’s away at her first year of college that I want to send her care packages every day.  I miss her so much (any other mamas out there understand?). To show my baby how much we’re thinking of her now as she’s facing her finals, I made this college finals care package to encourage her as she walks through these last couple of weeks of her first year of college.

Even though it’s been just a few years since I was in college, I know that I would have appreciated a care package for finals. Who wouldn’t? Finals is such a stressful time that any gesture of kindness makes a huge impact of encouragement. As a mom who misses her baby every single day, I enjoy taking the time to make a DIY college care package to show in a concrete way how much I love and miss her. An added benefit is that gathering the items and packaging them for mailing helps distract me for a couple of day. Not that I’m counting the days until my baby is back home.

I didn’t want to send my baby things that she’d have to find a way to pack to bring home with her in 2 weeks, so I added fun items that are small and can be used up in the next 2 weeks.

I focused on fun items to help relieve a bit of the stress she’s under during finals week. I also looked for items she could share with her roommates and friends. So be sure to send extra items to share with friends.

Coloring book

Crayons

Bubbles

Sidewalk chalk

DIY good luck card (and one for each of her roommates)

Candy, lots of candy, that she can share with friends

Gum

Microwave popcorn

Headache powder (more as a joke than for her to use, hopefully!)

You can pick up these items at your local discount store today or order from Amazon Prime with the link above, make the DIY finals treat card in about 10 minutes and get this college finals care package in the mail first thing tomorrow or the next day.  You still have time to show your baby that you’re thinking of her or him.

  1. This is such a cute idea. So smart to send consumables so that she wouldn’t have to pack more to come home during summer break! I might have to swap out a Sports Illustrated or Sudoku book for the coloring book since I don’t think my son would appreciate the cute factor as much as my daughter might. Great ideas! Thanks for sharing.

    1. lol, Corinne. You should try sending your son a coloring book but make him open it while you’re video chatting so you can see his reaction. 🙂

  2. Your daughter is one lucky girl to have a Mom like you. I know there are lots of kids out there who wished they had someone as thoughtful. Best wishes, Darlene

  3. I love this idea. I think sending your daughter a care package that has fun things in it is great. I am sure she loved taking a break from her studies to color! I know I would.

    1. I still love coloring, Cynthia. I find it relaxing and she said she had fun coloring and thought the bubbles were a fun stress break.

  4. That is so sweet! I remember my mom bringing me care packages when I was in college. I always appreciated food! I love the addition of coloring book and chalk… I am sure that’ll be a great break from studying 🙂
