Welcome to Day 24 of the 31 Days of 10-minute Decluttering Tips Challenge. Decluttering and eliminate items we don’t need from our lives and home make it possible to better enjoy life. Often we overlook organizing our car, but we spend so much time in our car each day that we need to make time to keep it organized. Let’s clear the clutter from our car today.
How many hours do you spend in your car each day? Each week? Probably too many if you’re like me. Keeping your car neat and organized makes all those hours you spend in the car a bit more pleasant.
Clearing Clutter – Decluttering Tips for the Car
Grab the 6 decluttering bags you created earlier and print your free copy of the Decluttering Clutter Checklist. Now, let’s head out to the car.
Take Everything Out- Keep in mind we’re doing this in 10 minutes. Concentrate on either inside the car or the trunk. You can come back to the other items another time you have 10 minutes.
Group Like Items Together – Throw the trash away immediately and then quickly group like items together.
Evaluate – Does this item belong in the car? Often items are left in the car and just never returned to where they belong. Now is the time to put them back where they belong. Consider how many items you really need in your trunk. It’s a balance between having the items you need in your trunk, like a first aid kit and jumper cables, and having too many unnecessary items that just reduce your fuel efficiency. Go through all those papers you’ve stuffed in the glove box. Keep the necessary important documents in your car, but shred or recycle the rest.
Purge – Remove items you don’t need to keep and place them in one of your 6 purging bags.
Put Everything Away – Put the items you’ve decided to keep in you car back away.

Focus on practicality when selecting your car organizing products.
Look for items that are versatile and multi-functional, such as seat organizers with multiple pockets or collapsible trunk organizers that can adapt to different storage needs.
Prioritize durability and quality materials to ensure longevity and resilience against wear and tear.
Be sure to consider is ease of installation and use. Who has time for difficult installations or daily use?

I’m so geeky I made a divided storage unit for the center console of my car out of cardboard:)
Lo-ove that idea, Seana. As soon as it warms up and I go outside again, I’m going to make one, too.
