I have never liked scary or creepy Halloween decorations. I prefer funny or cute decorations. My son, however, thinks scary (not super scary, but more than mom likes) is cool. As he’s gotten older, I’ve felt a little guilty that we don’t have any scary Halloween decorations. My compromise was to make this easy duct tape Halloween skull decoration to satisfy both of us.
You can pick up a paper mache skull from the craft store. I got mine last year on clearance, but they’re reasonably priced. I already had this duct tape from when I made Quick DIY School Supplies last year. Be sure to use solid colored or a busy patterned duct tape so that you don’t have to worry about the pattern lining up as you cover the skull.
Simply tear the duct tape into small pieces and cover the skull completely. Take care to tape around the teeth and to wrap the duct tape firmly into the skull orifices.
Use a white paint pen to color the teeth and a thin black marker to define the lines between the teeth.
And boo! In about 15 minutes, you have a whimsically scary Halloween decoration. It couldn’t be much quicker than this easy duct tape Halloween skull decoration.
