Easter is such a happy holiday filled with sunshine and the promise of spring. It’s a holiday identified with adorable bunnies, chicks and lambs. I live for a good upcycled craft project. When I found the perfect recycled plastic can to turn into a cute DIY Easter bunny, I was craft-static. This is an easy Easter craft for kids that is fun to make and can be perfect for holding Easter treats.
I have a bit of an obsession with upcycling the plastic can that French fried onions come in (you know, the ones you use on green bean casserole during the holidays). I’ve used the French fried onion plastic containers to make a Repurposed Santa Treat Can and Snowman Treat Container. But this year I decided to repurpose my new container to make an Easter treat can.
Easy Easter Craft for Kids
Supplies
White Plastic Can from French Fried Onion Rings
Black Permanent Marker
Pink Permanent Marker
White Paint Pen
White Paper – Either computer paper or card stock paper
Scissors
Packing Tape or Glue
I used a pencil to lightly outline the bunny’s facial features and then filled them in with the permanent markers. You could cut the features out of craft vinyl or paper and then use decoupage the features to the can. But using the markers was so easy and quick, that I stuck with them.
Cut two bunny ears from the white paper and color in the pink inner ear area. I simply cut the ears by eyeballing them.
I used packing tape to attach the ears to the back of the can. The last step was to add dimension to the bunny’s eyes with the white paint pen.
This cute bunny is perfect for holding treats. The plastic is food safe, so you can safely fill it with homemade cookies or candy.
This recycled can bunny is my new favorite easy Easter craft for kids. Making this sweet bunny treat container in 10 minutes is about as easy as it gets. Have you caught my repurposing craft fever yet?
My friend, Corinne at Wondermom Wannabe is sharing an Easter Care Package for College Students. Her “baby” is away at his first year of college and she enjoys sending college care packages as much as I do.
My friend, Andrea at Homemade for Elle, is sharing her Baby Easter Basket Ideas. It’s never too early to have fun celebrating with an Easter basket

I love how cute this turns out and how easy it is to do! Now I have to go check out all of those other crafts you’ve shared. They’ll be fun items to include in our baskets when we “egg” our neighbors this year.
Oh, I’d forgotten about “egging” the neighbors,Corinne. I remember that you did this post on it. How fun! https://wondermomwannabe.com/youve-been-egged/
