After this crazy cold weather across the country, we felt it was more than appropriate to talk about winter coats. While warmth is the most important factor in choosing a coat, style is still ranked pretty high in our books. Finding a coat that is both warm and doesn’t swallow you up is key. Try a more fitted coat or one with a belt or hidden drawstring at the waist.
Stay warm!
Looking cute when it’s cold can be tricky. But this long navy coat from Modcloth usually does the trick. I paired it with a simple berry colored bow dress (also Modcloth) and a gray cloche hat (H&M).
Another cold weather tip: when wearing tights, layer a nude or white pair underneath the first pair, especially if they’re netted. Today I wore nude pantyhose underneath a pair of white lace netted tights.

I love this bright blue coat from dELiAs. The color instantly stands out among the sea of black, grey and dark olive coats. A brighter colored coat can help cheer you up on grey winter days. To make the coat pop even more, I kept the rest of my outfit monochrome black with this fitted collared dress (H&M), opaque tights and ankle boots (Forever 21).
I also love this knit headband from Francesca’s. It keeps my ears warm without giving me hat hair!

Super cute outfits! I am not sure which coat I like the best. I do love the beret and the big headband with the bow! Great tips on keeping warm too!

I love both of these looks but am especially in love with that navy blue coat. E’s ensemble is entirely my style if I admit to having one.

It’s not very cold here, but it’s cold enough for us (especially for me) and I always like to wear nice and fashionable coat
