As a military family, we move every one to three years. I’ve moved into over 25 homes. I quickly realized that I couldn’t purchase the perfect organizing bin, shelf or tool for every new house. I’d go broke and it would become a full-time job finding new items and disposing of the old ones. That realization may have been when my love of repurposing items was born. I’ve found that repurposing items for organizing is perfect for our frequent moves. These are some of my favorite free bathroom organization ideasFree bathroom organization ideas you can do today. Using repurposed items to organize

  • saves money
  • is earth-friendly
  • saves running around town to purchase and return organizing items
  • can be recycled when you move
    • saving space when packing
    • saving the cost of moving items that may not fit in your next home
  • encourages creativity
  • allows you to inexpensively change your decorating decor

I enjoy the challenge of organizing with repurposed items. It’s the thrill of the hunt looking for and finding the perfect repurposed solution to your organizing need and space limitations. I also enjoy the creativity of decorating repurposed items to match my new decor

Repurposed Jars – Use glass or plastic food jars. You can use my tips to remove sticky labels naturally to clean up jars and add washi tape to make them match your bathroom decor. The jars are perfect for holding many different bathroom items

  • Cotton Balls
  • Cotton Swabs
  • Makeup Brushes
  • Makeup
  • Hair Ties

If you have young children, be sure to use plastic jars and containers for your family’s safety.Free bathroom organization ideas you can do today. Earth-friendly organizing ideas that are perfect if you’re a military family, move frequently or are on a budget. #GetUnderTheRim [ad]

Repurposed Items – Look around your home and see what items you already have and can repurpose. I use a sturdy baby wipes container to hold my headbands, a souvenir wine glass (yes, from my senior prom, ummm, just a few years ago) and a keepsake plant pot one of my children decorated and  gave me for Mother’s Day. Using souvenirs and  keepsake items to organize allows you to put things that would otherwise become clutter to use. And seeing precious items each day will give you a smile.

We’ve had that pink baby wipes box for 18 years. It’s been used to organize toys, art supplies, craft supplies, office supplies, batteries and now under my bathroom sink. It’s moved overseas and to seven states with us. It brings me a smile every single time I see it. What other organizing box can be functional and sentimental?Free bathroom organization ideas you can do today. Repurposed Boxes – Use shoe boxes and boxes from the warehouse store to contain items. You can often find boxes that are the right color and can be used straight away. But if you can’t find the perfect color box,  you can use that extra shelf liner left over from lining the cabinets of your new home. It’s an inexpensive way to dress up a cardboard box and an easy way to change up your decor colors and designs.Free bathroom organization ideas you can do today. Place loose items in the box. This allows you to easily slide the box out and reach the item you need. No more kneeling on the floor and climbing into the cabinet to reach something wa-aaay in the back of the cabinet. Free bathroom organization ideas you can do today. Repurposed Hair Bands – Use hairbands to wrap around the cords of hair dryers and other small appliances. This is the perfect use for stretched out hairbands. It’s a great way to keep those cords neatly organized and makes a big impact on keeping cabinets and drawers neat.Free bathroom organization ideas you can do today. Products that Come with Organization –  I also look for product that come with their own reusable organization. I recently discovered the new Scotch-Brite® Disposable Toilet Scrubber. It comes with its own stand and has a compartment that holds the Scotch-Brite® Disposable Toilet Scrubber Refills. I’m ridiculously excited about this organization stand. It’s slim enough that it almost disappears behind the back of the toilet. The compartment holds the refills, which means every thing I need is in one place.

I’m also excited that I don’t ever have to touch the scrubber heads. The wand simply clicks into the scrubber and then you press the button to release it into the trash when you’re done. Even the packaging is designed so that you clip the top of the bag and drop it straight into the storage compartment so you only have to touch the bag.

Of course, I’m happy that Scotch-Brite Disposable Toilet Scrubber cleans really well, too. It uses a bleach alternative cleaner with pumice to scrub away rust and hard water stains with the genuine Scotch-Brite scrubbing power I know. It easily reaches under the rim of the bowl with a flexing head design that reaches where other products often miss. Free bathroom organization ideas you can do today. Right?). Lucky for you, right now there’s a “Try Me Now” to save $2 offer on each box so it’s the perfect time to give it a try.Free bathroom organization ideas you can do today.
