Last year when we had my first “baby’s” high school graduation party, she only had one request. She’d seen the idea at her friend’s graduation party. Her graduation party idea was to have guests write cards for her that we could then mail to her throughout her first year at college. I thought it was a wonderful idea and quickly added it to our graduation party idea list.
I had picked this bread box up at a thrift store for about $1 – $2. You could use any kind of box or container that you want. It’s often windy where we live, so I wanted to be able to cover the supplies, so this bread box was perfect.
Supplies
Vinyl – I cut out letters for my “baby’s” name, but you could use letter stickers
Washi Tape – I used this to decorate the box, but you could use stickers or other decorations
Large Envelope
Cards and Envelopes
Stickers
Pens
After decorating the outside of the box, I placed the cards and envelopes, stickers and pens inside.
We placed the card writing station on its own table at the graduation party and asked all the guests to take a few minutes to write a card to my “baby.”
Through out the year I sent her the cards that her family and friends had written to her. The card writing station was a wonderful graduation party idea that my daughter enjoyed throughout her entire first year of college.I included the cards in every care package I sent to her during the year.

I love this idea! I can already picture the variety of heartwarming, hilarious, and thoughtful sentiments my son would receive and can imagine how much it would amuse and comfort him when he leaves for college. Thanks for sharing such a great idea!

This is such a smart idea. I know your daughter must have been excited to go to the mail box every day! I am sure that her friends were very envious too!
