Thanks to the magic of scheduling blog posts, hopefully you’ve been blissfully unaware of my big adventure the past couple of weeks. I am a very private person and this (is silly, but) is not easy for me to share with you. However, more than my silly discomfort, I treasure your friendship and want to explain why you may notice I’m a bit scarce around here for a while starting next week.
A mere two weeks ago, I woke up early and went walking with neighbors for a brisk 40 minutes. Twelve hours later I could barely shuffle down the hall of the emergency room. Twenty-four hours later I had the distinction of being the most complicated emergency appendectomy my surgeon had seen all year (yea, me!). I spent five days in the hospital thanks to my complicated appendectomy.
I now spend my days shifting my position on the couch in stretchy pants (thanks so much to my friend, J. for pushing me around the store in a wheelchair so I could buy stretchy yoga pants). In theory, sitting around not being able to do much sounds attractive, but in reality it’s a bit uncomfortable and boring. I’m hoping to be back to “normal” and normal activities soon (except maybe the mopping, I’m okay with not getting back to that right away).
Thanks to my obsession with scheduling posts several weeks out, I’ve been able to lay on the couch and have everything run just fine here on the blog for the past two weeks. However, since my last scheduled post is on Monday, I thought it was about time to let you know what’s going on around Organized 31.
The This Is How We Roll link party will continue on Thursdays uninterrupted. I will have a few posts now and then (the ideas are peculating as I lay around here) and I have some past projects I can write about. I just wanted to let you know that my posting schedule may be a bit sporadic for a while. I’m not sure how long it will take for me to get back to “normal,” but please hang in there with me. I will be back as good as ever, just as soon as I can.
Take care and be well.

Oh my goodness Susan. Ouch. You’ll definitely need a few more weeks of rest to recover. Trust me I know from experience. Years ago I had my gallbladder removed. It was way back you had a nasty big incision across the upper abdomen. So just relax and enjoy the special attention.
Take care, Darlene

If I had to have my appendix removed, I am thankful it’s now when the incisions are much smaller. Thank you so much for the good wishes.

Hi Susan, i’ve just signed up to your newsletter today so thank you for accepting me, I’m so sorry to hear you’re poorly & hope you be better soon, Rest up as much as you can because surgery is hard enough to get over besides the added complications, After 3 C sections, & a hysterectomy with major complications, i know full well how sore it can be, So wishing you a speedy recovery we’ll all still be here when you’re up & about again, Have a good day Anna 🙂

Thanks, so much for taking the time to send well wishes, Anna. You are one strong woman having soldiered through 4 abdominal surgeries and have my respect! Thanks for joining the Organized 31 family and I look forward to sharing new projects soon.

Thank you so much, Mert. I am blessed that I’m able to complain about sitting on my couch too much 🙂

Thanks so much, Holly. I’m feeling a bit better (and a lot antsy to get back to “normal”). Have a wonderful weekend.

Susan, funny how things like that happen isn’t it? We are moving along fine and then smack – we are not. Thankfully you are organized well enough to be ahead of the game and have some scheduled posts. So glad you are feeling better and I look forward to your future posts. Take care, that is what is most important.
susan says
Thanks so much, Cynthia. With all my planning and organizing, it’s humbling to realize that I’m not in control of everything.

Hi Susan,
I am glad to hear that you are okay. Those appendix can be treaty. Take care of yourself…that’s what’s important.
susan says
Thanks so much, Trish. I received good news from the surgeon yesterday and I’m trying my best to be a good patient.
Carolyn says
Oh boy, I had a terrible case of appendicitis a few years back (complete with internal bleeding afterwards and a SECOND surgery to try to clean up that mess! Fun times!) and it was by far a more painful ordeal than either of my c-sections. So I’m so sorry for your ordeal! I hope you feel better quickly!
susan says
Oh, my, Carolyn, that sounds terrible. I’m so glad that it’s all behind you now. Thank you for the good wishes.
