If you’ve been here before, you probably noticed that the surroundings are looking a bunch more modern and clean (not so fussy and “old school”).
I started blogging about a year and a half ago to force myself to learn more about technology and social media. Confession time – I hate technology. Really. But I’m too young to just give up on learning new-fangled gadgets and stuff. So I started blogging knowing nothing and with no budget. Hmmm, guess I did pretty well on my previous blog design if I keep that in mind. Here’s a reminder of what it looked like around here just 2 days ago.
But now that I know a little more and have earned a little money from blogging, I decided to hire someone to help me design my blog and move it from Blogger to WordPress (for those of you who don’t blog, it’s like driving a cheap used car and then moving to your first fancy new car).
I spent quite a few months dragging my feet, watching other blog friends make the switch and checking out my options. About a month ago, I finally took the plunge. My friend, Cynthia at Feeding Big, had done a redesign back in the summer and I loved how her blog turned out. (pop over and check it out) So I asked her about it. Cynthia told me that she’d used Samantha from Neapolitan Designs and that she’d been very happy with the results and the experience. Since I already knew I loved Cynthia’s new blog look, I contacted Samantha.
I can’t tell you how pleased I’ve been with this entire blog redesign and transfer process. Samantha is very patient and willing to answer endless questions. In the design phase, she was able to take what I was saying and translate it into what I meant. (I didn’t have the artistic or graphic design vocabulary to express my ideas clearly, but she was able to understand what I wanted). I really like the new logo she came up with for Organized 31 and the entire look of the blog.
Samantha was so efficient and easy to work with in the transfer to WordPress phase, too. She did an amazing job of keeping me informed of what was going on while also somehow making the magic of the transfer happen. (I picture her like the Wizard of Oz guy behind the curtain shifting levers and turning handles all while talking to me.) There was one little hiccup and she was on top of it immediately all while emailing me and answering my questions. Overall, I’d say the transfer went off without a hitch and went much quicker than I expected.
If you need someone to help you with web, print or event design, I can highly recommend Samantha and Neapolitan Designs. She is committed to making sure you’re informed and comfortable through the entire process. She is equally focused on making sure you’re happy with the final product. And let me tell you, I am totally 100% satisfied. I am over the moon happy with the new blog look and the transfer. You can find her button over on my sidebar, too.
Now I’m off to learn some new-fangled technology stuff.

I love the new look! I have been toying with the idea of hiring someone to redesign mine because I don’t love any of the free themes available to me and I’m worried about crashing my site if I mess with one myself. I’m glad I know who to turn to if I decide to take the plunge. I love her work here and at Feeding Big.

I started my blog on WordPress, but I’ve been holding back on hiring someone who knows more. I’ve learned a lot, but it seems to be getting more involved LOL!! Thanks for the referral…After the New Year, maybe for my birthday in February, I’ll be contacting Samantha.
Great Job!
