Last week I showed you how I made 10 upcycled fabric
gift bags for $1 from a repurposed thrifted table cloth. Today I want to show you what I made with the bed skirt that I found on the same day I found the tablecloth.
I found this white bed skirt at the thrift store when I found the red table cloth that I used to make upcycled
gift bags. The bed skirt was only $1 and has a pretty cut-out edge that I thought would be a nice accent on a fabric gift bag.
I measured the circumference of a box I got at Costco.
I measured and cut the fabric and then sewed the bag using the directions I shared last week. It took me less than 10 minutes to make the gift bag.
Instead of attaching ribbon to close the top of the bag, I used a rubber band to gather the top of the bag and form a rosette.
Voila!
A lovely upcycled fabric gift bag for a dollar. And I still have 3 more edges of the bed skirt to upcycle and feature that cut-out edge in more gift bags ( I have a couple of ideas that I’ll be showing you soon).
