Repurposed Plastic Container Snowman Gift Treat Box

You may remember last year when I discovered the french fried onions plastic container that I turned into a Santa Treat Box. Guess what? You can find the same french friend onion container in white. As soon as I saw it I knew that I had to make a Snowman Treat box from this repurposed plastic container.
This is truly a quick and easy repurposed projects and best of all, it cost me nothing.
This time of year many of us are making lots of green bean casseroles for the holidays. Simply save those plastic containers and wash them well.
I raided my craft supplies and found some green felt to make a scarf for my snowman. I found it easiest to cut fringes on both sides of one piece of felt and then wrap it over a longer piece of felt to wrap around the snowman’s neck. This allows the scarf to lay nicely (which didn’t happen when I tried tying the scarf around the neck like you would on a person).
Next I added a couple of buttons from my button stash and used glue dots to attach the buttons.
And finally I cut a piece of card stock to cover the logo on the lid of the container. I stamped Season’s Greetings and left space to sign my family’s name.
I’ll be using these to put homemade treats in as gifts for the neighbors and friends. I love a quick, easy and cute project! I can’t wait to make more of these little cuties.

This is too funny Susan. Funny weird. Two days ago we finished off some ice cream. It came in a great red plastic container. I washed it out. I’ve been trying to figure out what to use it for – toys, crayons, piggy bank . . . We normally would use it for storing left overs but I thought we might try something different. Now I know what to do with it. Thanks for sharing.
love this! I knew I saved that container for a reason. I hate throwing things away and this container isn’t recyclable. I am going to put my niece’s gift into this. I am sure she will get a kick out of it. Thanks for sharing this and Happy Holidays!
I had so much fun making these! Instead of paper, I used matching felt to cover the top of the lid. We filled them with individual portions of healthier on the go snacks (trail mix, bags of nuts, peanut butter crackers, protein bars, fruit leather, etc) & gave these out to my daughters’ dance teachers for Christmas. Thanks for the great idea! 🙂
