Remember the sweater mittens I made?

After I was done cutting out the mittens, I just couldn’t bring myself to throw out the sleeves.

The sleeves were too narrow to use to make more mittens like I did with the sleeves from the pink sweater {here}.  But I realized that the sleeves would fit a pair of ladies shoes.  Since I have 2 teenage daughters, you can only imagine how many pairs of shoes we have to pack whenever we travel.  I can always use more shoe bags.

So, ta da.

I think I might have a secret repurposed shoe bag addiction.  Remember these {here}?

Hmm, what do you think?  Too many shoes or brilliant idea?  Well, either way, I love repurposing AND keeping my clothes clean when I travel.

  1. I think this is a brilliant idea. I am ashamed to say that my shoes usually end up in Target or Walmart bags when I travel! I will have to remember this idea!

    1. Gingermommy, I’m a slight germaphobe, especially about the bottoms of shoes … guess that explains the shoe bag obsession.

  5. Wow! What a great idea! I might have to make some for my kiddos when we travel I hate putting their shoes in the suitcase with them all dirty.

    1. Jenn, I am so with you about hating to put dirty shoes in my suitcase. Give these a try. They’re super quick and easy to sew (even for me the non-seamstress!). It takes about 3 minutes max.
