I love to see new brilliant idea products as much as the next girl, but sometimes I’m surprised by how unnecessary an item can be. I was in Target and saw a drip tray that was about $4. Not much, but why would I need to buy another item, when I can do even better with a repurposed one?
This time I simply peeled the label off the lid, flipped it over and voila.
You can use any large lid, like from an ice cream tub, too.
But I prefer to use square or rectangular lids to maximize space.
I love saving another item from the landfill. And when inevitably, the tray gets too drippy and yucky, I can simply recycle it and use a new lid. No guilt and no cost. Yea.

I keep a few of those containers on hand to use when I deliver baked goods to friends. I also know quilters who save cut fabric pieces in them, organized by size.
BTW, I noticed your lettuce is slightly past its sell-by date… Better wash it off well! 😉

I’m going to use your baked goods box idea. Thank you. And I was horrified at first to think that I had “old” lettuce until I remembered that it was only an “old” picture. But I do confess a moment of horror. 🙂
