The Blueberry Store Blueberry Syrup

My family loves blueberries. We love them fresh. We love them in baked goods. We love them dried. But we’d never tried blueberry syrup. We’re simple syrup folk, and generall prefer maple syrup (the fake kind). So I was excited when we had the opportunity to try blueberry syrup from The Blueberry Store in South Haven, Michigan.
The Blueberry Store is located in South Haven, MI and specializes in all things blueberry. Interestingly, more cultivated blueberries are harvested within 50 miles of their store than any other place in the world. That means they have a lot of fresh berries available right on their doorstep.
Our blueberry syrup arrived the day before the kids had a snow day (they said it worked out perfectly). The Blueberry Store is proud to be able to say that their all-natural Blueberry Syrup is made from True Blue Farm’s best blueberries and they believe it is simply the world’s best Blueberry Syrup, with ingredients – Blueberries, Sugar, Lemon Juice. The syrup is supposed to be great on pancakes, waffles and even ice cream! So, I decided to make pancakes with blueberry syrup for the kids as a snow day treat.
The syrup is very thick, closer to preserves than syrup in texture. It was nice because it actually stayed on your pancakes. rather than running all over the plate The syrup was very fresh tasting and not too sweet. We all liked it. My son, in particular, really, really enjoyed the blueberry syrup on the pancakes. The girls and I decided we’d like to try in on pound cake or angel food cake and if they have another snow day tomorrow, I’m pretty sure we’ll be doing just that. I’m sure it would also be delicious on ice cream, but with all these snow days going on around here, ice cream isn’t foremost in our minds.

This syrup looks really good. I remember the first time I ever had blueberry syrup – it was many years ago at Knotts Berry Farm. I think I will have to order some of this!

Yum yum! My father’s favorite kind of syrup is Blueberry. I try to get him some every year for this birthday, which is right around the corner. I’ll have to check this brand out, thanks for the head’s up!
