If you’ve been around Organized 31 long, you know I have an addiction to using recycled items in crafts.  I was emptying a can the other day, about to throw it in the recycling bin, when bing! I had an afternoon craft to make with my son.  This upcycled Halloween kids craft can be used to hold candy or as a decoration.

You’ll need a can with a green lid, construction paper, a paper-cutter or scissors, a black marker or crayon and double-stick tape.

Lesson learned – it would be easier to draw the face on the paper before you attach the paper to the can.  I’d recommend measuring and cutting your paper first.  Draw the pumpkin face and then attach the paper to the can.

I drew some pumpkin leaves freehand, cut them out and attached those to the lid.  It was an easy and fun little Halloween project to make with my son.  This would be an easy project to make with a group of children if you precut the paper to the correct size.

Fill your upcycled Halloween kids craft jar with candy and have a very Happy Halloween.
