Are you looking for the best planners for Moms? I’ve used many different styles and brands of planners myself and know the pros and cons from my personal experience.
Also, as a professional organizer, I know what has worked well for my clients.
Best Planner for Mom
I’ve gathered a list of my favorites and the best planners for moms based on my personal and my clients’ experience. I also share the factors you should consider when selecting the best planner for you.
How to Find the Best Planner for You
There are many planners for women, designed for the aesthetic and needs of a busy woman. Finding the best planner for moms, means find the best planner for your unique needs.
Decide how you will use your planner.
Knowing how you will use your planner will help you determine the best size, best layout and best binding for you to choose.
- Will you leave your planner organizer on your desk?
- Will you carry it with you?
- Do you need it to fit in your purse or briefcase?
- Will you use if for work and personal?
- Is your planner just for you or the entire family?
Determine your personal preferences.
Dated or Undated Planner
If you are starting your planner in the middle of the year, you may want to choose an undated planner.
Take into consideration that filling out an undated planner can be time consuming. Some people find the process soothing and arthritic, others find it tedious and stressful.
Planner Layout
Take the time to look over the many different layout styles available so you can choose what works best for your personal preferences and schedule.
Do you prefer daily, weekly or monthly, or a mix, as your calendar layout?
You can also choose from horizontal and vertical page layouts.
Planner Binding
There are many different styles of binding. You should choose your personal preference and consider what works best for your situation.
Book Binding – The planner organizer looks like a book. This style of binding holds up well to hard use because the cover is sturdy and the pages are secured in the planner. Often the planner won’t lay flat and open to the page you want.
Spiral Planner – The pages are securely held, but some people find that the spiral gets in the way of writing on some areas of the page.
The pages turn easily and you can fold the planner in half for easier writing on the go.
Ring Binding or Binder Style – These planners hold up well to rough use because the cover and ring binding are sturdy.
You can add and remove pages easily. You can’t fold the planner in half to make use easier when you don’t have a table.
Disc Bound or Happy Planner Style – The discs allow you to easily add, remove and relocate pages in the planner. You can fold the planner in half to use it on the go.
Some people find the disc get in the way of writing on certain areas of the page.
Planner Style
Some planners for mom, particularly, are brightly decorated and include stickers and embellishments. You can find many different colors and themes to match your particular style.
You can also find simpler, minimalist style planners if you prefer a cleaner style.
Decide how durable you need it to be.
If you want to carry the planner with you to work, to activities, on business trips, etc., you need to choose a planner that will hold up to all that travel.
If you want to leave the planner laying on your desk or kitchen counter, you can choose a planner that isn’t quite as sturdy.
Decide if you want to create your own planner.
Print Your Own Planner
While there are many planners for moms available to purchase, there are also wonderful options available for download.
With these planners, you simply download and print out your own planner. You can choose which pages you want and you can print them as many times as you need.
Create a Bullet Journal
I’ve used bullet journals and love how you can tailor them to your unique and changing needs. Check out Bullet Journals – What You Need to Know to learn more.
You can choose to create an artistic, embellished journal, but you don’t have to. Minimalist bullet journals are just as popular and useful as decorative ones. Choose what works best for you.
Decide your price point.
You can find planners in a wide range of prices and there are great choices at each price point.
Be sure to consider if you’ll need additional equipment, like a special paper punch, to go with the planner style you choose.
Look for coupon codes to make your planner choice more affordable.
Best Planners for Moms
The Happy Planner
The Happy Planner is a disc bound planner. I have used the Happy Planner and other disc bound systems and am a huge fan of disc binding.
With disc binding, it easy to add and remove pages. What I love best about it, is that you can easily move a page to a different location in your planer, again and again and again.
You can change the color and size of the discs to personalize your Happy Planner to your specific needs and tastes.
Happy Planner is known for their coordinating stickers and accessories. They have items for every style and use.
I recommend you purchase your own Happy Planner punch so that you can add any paper you want to your planer.
Erin Condren Planner
The Erin Condren Planner is designed as a planner for women, is particularly popular with teachers and busy mom.
I’ve used Erin Condren Planners for years.
You can personalize your planner with cover design, page layout and more. And Erin Condren has many stickers to decorate and increase your productivity.
Erin Condren Planners comes in:
- A spiral Life Planner version that I’ve used several years.
- A Life Planner Binder version that I’ve also used and liked for a keep on my desk planner.
- A PetitePlanner Folio set that I’ve used and like that you can remove and add quarterly planner booklets to keep your planner functional and lighter weight. You can choose which planners you want to add to tailor your planner to your unique needs. It combines the best of a planner with a Traveler Notebook.
Clever Fox
I’m a big fan of Clever Fox planners. They are extremely well-made and combine the best of a planner with the flexibility of a bullet journal.
You have several choices with Clever Fox Planners:
- Premium Weekly Planner – An undated planner with 12 monthly calendars separated from 54 weekly spreads. The vegan leather cover comes in a choice of colors and has 3 bookmark ribbons.
- Daily Pro Planner – An undated planner that will help you create a life vision and define and breakdown your short and long-term goals.
- There are also dated planners, budget planners (you can see two of the budget planners in my review of The Best Budget Planner) cash envelope systems and so much more.
Mom Agenda Planners
Mom Agenda designs every planner with moms in mind. I’ve used this planner and found it perfect for a mom that has multiple busy children or a mom that has several different areas of her own life that she needs to track in one planner.
The layout allows you to simultaneous track appointments and tasks for different people or responsibilities. The unique layout has generated many dedicated Mom Agenda fans.
Organized 31 Bullet Journal Printable
When you print out your own planner, you can choose only the pages that you will use. No more lugging around the extra weight of unused pages in your planner. This is a key component to me in the best planners for mom.
I created a printable planner that combines the best of a bullet journal with a preprinted planner for my personal use. Once I created it, I decided to share it with you in my shop.
I use mine with a disc bound system like that used in the Happy Planner. However, you can use a 3-ring binder, have it spiral bound or use whatever binding system you prefer.
I also created an undated bullet journal style planner for those that prefer a perpetual use calendar. You purchase this planner once and can use it forever!
What do you think is the best planner for moms? I’m always interested in trying new planners.
