Client Reviews

“I can’t thank Susan enough for her help when we moved to Virginia. It was overwhelming.  There was stuff everywhere and I didn’t know where to start.  Susan started in the kitchen.  Rather than do it all for me, she taught me how to choose what went where based on what I found functional.  She said, “Think about where you want something to be when you need it.”  She had me setting up my kitchen (with her at my side) in no time.  She also taught me to just get rid of the duplicates of kitchen utensils that sit unused. The kitchen is still set up the way it was when Susan left and I have never seen a need to change it.  I used that method throughout each room.  If I were looking for something, where would I naturally go? What did I need within reach? Where would the kids put their school stuff in their new home?”

“Thank you so very much for your help today.  You were everything that C. said (organized, calm, compassionate, knowledgeable, and more) and that was the best $$ I have spent in ages! “

“Susan has helped me with several spaces in my home including my kitchen cabinets and pantry. What I use is now at the front of every cabinet. Each session has made me assess my belongings and bring what I really need and use into focus. Susan has started assisting me with saved and stored items in my basement that have been in boxes from 15 years of moving. I have been able to reorganize treasured items and let go of things just taking up much needed storage space.”

“To this day I use Susan’s organizational techniques.  In our house Susan has become a verb. Definition: To Susan–ize (verb): to organize an area of the house so that when you are done it looks neat, makes sense and you had fun doing it.   My kids came home from school one day and I had been organizing the linen closet.  The first thing they asked was, “Is Susan here?”.  Another day I was cleaning out a closet.  The kids walked in, looked at everything pulled out and said, ” You’re Susan-izing again, Mom, aren’t you?”  And I was.  I was labeling sets of sheets to make them easier to identify by size.”

I tried to stuff three households into my 1500 sq. ft. place and for someone that is already disorganized and with a full plate of paperwork obligations for work and home, I found myself in a very problematic situation. Susan was great—she worked with me through virtual appointments to help me organize with what would work best for me, given my space, style, and the way I think. Sure, it would have worked using her style of organization; however, she wanted to promote sustainability—using the way I think would be a way to keep it going.

My cellar was a huge mess and her guidance was effective in helping me tackle the task.

My office was cluttered and things didn’t have a home—Susan’s suggestions for ways to streamline the management of my papers was really great!

9 months later, I am still working on the cellar (the project that never ends) and my desk is organized!!

One other thing that was priceless—I considered making my own wedding gown and time was ticking.  Susan and I had several conversations about time management and goal setting. I realized that it was just going to be too stressful and take away from the other planning tasks. I decided to buy the dress and I am so glad I did!!!!

I can’t say enough about how Susan helped and got me on the path. I will probably check in for another appointment to refine the current processes and move on to tackle my wood shop.

Susan was wonderful! She helped me understand how to organize my arts and crafts supplies, what to let go of, and she labeled everything. Susan also did the heavy lifting as I’m disabled. We talked about our military lives as we worked so I felt a true kinship. Susan knows her stuff and I’d love to hire her again as we continue to downsize and organize.

Even though organizing is so much more than one magazine-worthy photo, I know that an image is worth a thousand words.
