Can you believe that it’s finals time already?! My oldest “baby” is facing college finals next week and my younger “baby” is facing them in high school next month. I wanted to make my daughters a little treat to encourage them as they face their testing. I came up with this easy DIY finals test treat that you can whip up in about 5-10 minutes.
DIY Finals Test Treat
Supplies
Start with black envelopes (thanks to my friend, J., for my black envelop supply that were the inspiration for this craft)
Colored card stock paper (this is the perfect opportunity to use up those scraps of paper you’ve holding on to)
A white marker or paint pen
Black marker
Scissors
Double stick tape
Cut colored card stock to make a frame for your “chalkboard” and add it to the front of the envelope. Add a piece or two of chalk and an eraser. Write a note to your student on the chalkboard with the white marker. Add embellishment to the chalkboard frame, like the alphabet or school-themed stickers.
Fill the envelope with Smarties candy, gum and other treats like headache powder (for laughs, hopefully).
Do you know a student that would appreciate a DIY finals test treat?

Hi Susan – What a Smartie idea to help your babies get through finals! I remember how stressful they were! Hugs, Holly
And you’re a Cutie, Holly! I can’t wait for my “baby” to come home for the summer.
What a cute idea for finals care packages! This will have to go in the box along with the almonds (brain food) and chocolate (soul and spirit reinforcement food) I send. 🙂 Thanks for sharing. 🙂
Thanks, Wendy. Love the idea of adding almonds and chocolate (2 of my reasons for living on some days) 🙂
This is such a cute idea! I love the way you made the black envelopes look like chalkboards. I know your daughters will love them and appreciate the love and thought behind them!
Thank you, Cynthia. I’m pleased with how they turned out and waiting to hear what my “baby” thinks of them when she receives them in the mail.
my daughter is taking 12 week exams for the first time this year. Wishing her luck and I might need the headache relief.
Lol, Maria! I hadn’t thought that parents might need exam encouragement, too.
My son has been up until midnight every night this week preparing for AP exams. He’ll have just enough time to catch up on sleep before heading into finals. This will be a great pick-me-up for him!
It doesn’t seem fair that they have 2 weeks of AP Exams and then finals on top, does it, Corinne? Good luck to your son!

Your children are really lucky to have a mom who is taking time to DIY and make them happy. You are really amazing. I really hope they succeed in their finals. Actually these cute DIy. I love the treats.
Thank so much, Sweet. Do you have Smarties candy where you are?
Cute idea! Thanks for linking up to Tips & Tricks – hope to see you again next week!
These are so cute! I work at a university, and these would make great gifts for our student employees. Pinning!
