For much of the country and world it’s the Christmas and holiday season, but for college students it’s a different time entirely. It’s college finals time. Since this is my oldest “baby’s” first experience with college finals, I want to let her know that we’re thinking of her. I figure that a college finals care package is the perfect way to show our love and support to her at this stressful time. (And I do know that my “baby” is an adult now, but she’ll always be my “baby.”)
I know what I was like during finals so I can guess what my “baby” will be like. No meals, lots of junk food and lots of caffeinated drinks. Not enough sleep and lots of stress. What a terrible combination for my “baby’s” health and tummy. I want to drive to her college and cook healthy meals for her 3 times a day. But since that isn’t possible (as much as I’ve tried to figure out how to make it a possibility), I decided to do the next best thing and send her some healthier protein rich snacks. I really like the V8 Protein Bars because they’re made with sweet potatoes and carrots and are sweetened with honey, brown rice syrup and sugar. They’re chock-full of healthy components, with 12 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber. The chocolate peanut butter bars are delicious. It’s a little indulgence that she needs every day (love how only a mom can find a good-for-you indulgence?!) You can learn more about V8 Protein Shakes and Bars by following them on Facebook or Twitter.
I ran by Walmart knowing that I could pick up V8 Protein Bars and other items for the care package. You can find V8 Protein Bars and Shakes in the Diet Aisle near the Health and Beauty section of the store.
