Both of my daughters have danced hula.  My oldest is going to a hula competition this summer. She dances both traditional hula and modern hula.   It’s a big deal and costs big bucks!  The halau (hula school or group) is doing lots and lots of fund raisers.  I thought it would be nice for my daughter to include a hand-written note to neighbors who are supporting her fundraising efforts.

I had seen this cute retro hula girl graphic on The Graphics Fairy {here}.   I knew I just had to use it to make the cards.  I dug through my craft paper and found these hibiscus post cards that are the perfect background.  I was able to use up a bunch of my scraps of green and blue card stock to frame the hula dancer pictures.

It was quick and easy and I’m charmed by the way the cards turned out – very cool, retro.  They compliment the hula bags I made for my daughter’s hula sisters.
