Nothing says Halloween more than candy corn. I just love those happy bright colors. I was looking at my yarn stash and wondering what I could make when I noticed that I had white, yellow and orange yarn. Bingo! The candy corn crochet basket was born.
With 3 children, I find myself sitting, waiting at many doctor’s appointments, dentist appointment, practices and activities. I hate to just sit there with nothing to do, so I’m usually taking quick, easy crochet projects with me to keep me out of trouble.
My family loves Halloween. So when I saw this pattern {here}. for a crocheted basket, I somehow saw it as a candy corn basket.
The pattern is easy to follow, but I just adjusted the pattern to make a wider basket.
How cute is that? I just need to get some candy to fill the basket. Would it be too corny to fill my crocheted candy corn basket with candy corn?

Hi Susan – you made this yourself? Wowza you are talented! I personally would fill it with candy corn and a big candle and put it out on a table or somewhere as a centerpiece. Hugs, Holly

I say keep it for yourself! Too darn cute! You can always make more during the year for gifts! I love crochet and don’t take enough time for it. I think this will be something I work on this fall and winter. I enjoy having some wool in my hands when it is cold outside!

Hi Susan, I have to get into the habit of bringing small crochet projects with me too.
Your basket looks awesome. I don’t know about you, but if I kept all my projects, my home would be packed from floor to ceiling. I love creating then gifting to someone who would appreciate it.
Have a fantastic week.
