Christmas is the season for handmade decorations and gifts. Handmade gifts bring back the happy, nostalgic memories that define the Christmas season. As much as I adore handmade gifts, I’m a busy mom and don’t have time for complicated crafts. These mini rustic Christmas wreaths are handmade charming and you can make one in just minutes. Really.
These little fabric wreaths are so-oooo easy to make. They’re easy enough to make with children and delightful enough that you’ll want to make them yourself.
Aren’t they just so stinkin’ cute?! They’re even more charming in person.
Mini Rustic Christmas Wreaths
Supplies
- Fabric – At least 3 colors of coordinating fabric. This is a great project to use up fabric scraps. You need less than a quarter of a yard of each color.
- 2 inch Diameter Craft Ring – Wood, Metal or Plastic Craft Ring
- Fabric Scissors
- Ribbon – Coordinating color of ribbon to make a hanging loop. Contrasting color of ribbon to make a bow for the wreath. This is a great opportunity to use up ribbon scraps.
- Hot Glue Gun
Step 1 – Cut the fabric into strips about 1/2 inch wide and 10 1/2 inches long. You don’t have to cut the strips perfectly, but you do not want too much variation in the width of the pieces.
Step 2 – Fold the fabric strip in half. Slip one end through the ring and align ends of fabric strip.
Step 3 – Tie a knot close to the ring.
Step 4 – Tie the remaining fabric strips around the ring, alternating the fabric colors.
Step 5 – Trim the ends of fabric to even them up.
Step 6 – Add a coordinating ribbon loop to hang or tie the mini rustic Christmas wreath (see arrows in photo #4).
Add a contrasting ribbon bow, using hot glue to attach it to the wreath.
I really takes only about 15 minutes to make one wreath. It took me about a half an hour to make these three wreaths. I was able to make three wreaths so quickly because you can cut fabric strips for multiple wreaths in about the same amount of time it takes to cut strips for just one wreath.
I hung these wreaths on jars of homemade cookies I made for the neighbors. It really dressed up the packages.
These are some of my favorite gift giving cookie recipes:
- Fresh Strawberry Cookies
- Decorated Sugar Cookies
- Candy Bar Cookies
- Almond Cookies
- Old Fashioned Jam Thumbprint Cookies
- Rolo Pretzel Surprise Cookies
- Oreo Surprise Chocolate Chip Cookies
- Pecan Tassie Cookies
I’m so smitten with these mini rustic Christmas wreaths. They’re just so charmingly adorable. I think I need to go make some more of these wreaths right now. If you like wreaths, you should also check out this Upcycled Book Page Wreath.

I’m a mom of 3, a veteran and military spouse. I’ve moved into 20+ homes all around the world. My passion is helping busy people make the space and time for what’s really important to them.
Those are really cute wreaths! I like the idea of attaching them to the mason jars that you give people as presents. That’s a nice way to make it look more like a package.
