It seems like one week you’re bringing your baby daughter home and the next week she’s heading off to college. I’m so proud of my baby girl, but just can’t believe that she’s all grown up. My focus now is on getting her ready for being on her own. I worry about her having all the “stuff” she needs and I worry about her eating healthy, particularly getting enough calcium. Fortunately, with Viactiv Calcium Soft Chews, I’m able to make sure she gets the calcium she needs and also make her a cute repurposed box to take with her.
I worry about my daughter eating right and getting the nutrition she needs when she’s away at college. According to a 2010 study in The Journal of Nutrition, 86% of teen girls do not get enough calcium in their daily diets. Since our bodies don’t manufacture calcium, we have to obtain it through our diet. I learned that by the time my daughter is 20, she will have reached 95% of her peak bone mass, I realized that these years at college are an important time for her calcium intake.
Now I’m a realistic mama and recognize that she’s probably not going to be drinking 3 glasses of milk each day (without me there to check up on her), so I’ll be sending her off to college with a box Viactiv Calcium Soft Chews, which are the #1 doctor recommended calcium supplement chew. Since each one is individually wrapped, it will be easy for her to toss in her purse or backpack and take with her. I’ve taken Viactiv Calcium Soft Chews for years and know that they taste good and are so convenient for a busy teen or her mama.
In addition to being a Viactiv fan, I’m a big fan of the box for repurposing. It’s a great size and it comes with a pink lid! I grabbed some pretty wrapping paper and decoupage glue to make a cute organizing box for my daughter.
I painted the decoupage glue onto the box. I lined the top edge of the paper up just under the lip of the box and left enough paper to wrap under the bottom of the box.
A quick touch up to the lip of the box with a silver marker and the entire project took about 10 minutes.
My daughter can use this cute box to hold her Viactiv Soft Chews….
…or to hold office supplies.
You can get your own Viactiv Calcium Soft Chews to build strong bones and to repurpose the box at Walmart, Rite Aid, CVS, Target, Walgreens and drugstore.com. You can learn more about Viactiv on Facebook.
