Thanks to Organize My Drawer for the opportunity to design my own sewing box trays. My opinions are always my own.

Keeping my sewing box trays organized saves me time and makes it much easier to focus on sewing (rather than rummaging around looking for what I need).  The plastic tray that came with my sewing box was flimsy and broke within a few years. The sewing box itself is in great shape even though it’s 20 years old and has moved 10 times. The sewing box is also sentimental since my mom gave it to me. I found two ways to design my own sewing box organizer. I much prefer one of them and lucky for you, you can enter the giveaway for the chance to win and create your own.

Even when my sewing box was new, the flimsy plastic tray that came with it barely served as an organizing tray. It was so flimsy, it would bend and fall into the sewing box and then the contents would dump into the bottom of the box. I really can’t tell you how not useful it was. So when it finally broke after just a few years, I really wasn’t that heartbroken. I figured I’d create my own organizing tray.

Sewing Box Organizer

Option One – Repurposed Gift Box

I took a gift box and covered both the top and the bottom with wrapping paper to create two trays.

Pluses

  • Trays were free.
  • Trays held up for several years before needing to be replaced.

Cons

  • The trays didn’t have individual compartments.
  • The trays were slightly smaller than my sewing box, so I wasn’t maximizing my organizing opportunity.
  • The trays were still more flimsy that I wanted.

Option Two – Organize My Drawer

I created sewing box organizer trays that perfectly fit my sewing box and my unique storage needs.

Organize My Drawer is a veteran-owned and woman-owned company that assembles the one-of-a-kind drawer organizers here in the USA. You know how that’s a win-win-win for me before we even get to the top-quality product.

With Organize My Drawer, you can design your own unique drawer or shelf organizer for your:

I used their their online design tool to create two drawer liners that solve my unique and specific organizing requirements. Once I designed my organizers, Organize My Drawer created my one-of-a-kind organizer from sturdy acrylic. I love clear acrylic because:

  • It’s sturdy and strong enough to hold all my tools and equipment.
  • It’s clear so I can easily see exactly what I have.
  • It’s easy to wipe out and clean.

I was impressed with how quickly my organizing trays arrived. I immediately filled the trays all my stuff. Everything fit perfectly and the trays fit perfectly into my sewing box, like they were made for it – cause they were!
