Fall is here and there is pumpkin spice flavors everywhere. Is October your favorite month? October is a very busy month in my household. I focus on cleaning in preparation for closing the house up tight for the winter and on preparing for the busy holiday season. I wouldn’t be able to face October and all the tasks I need to accomplish without my October To Do Checklist. It’s a free printable you can use, too.

October To Do Checklist

As the first month of the quarter, October is the perfect time to toss out old toothbrushes and mascara. These are items that should be replaced at least every three months.

Since the house will be closed up tight during cold winter months, I want to take the time to clean away summer pollen and dust. I take a couple of days to do a deep fall cleaning:

Take a few minutes to go through all spices and baking supplies. Look for expired items. If you’re not sure how hold it is, throw it out. Declutter these items. Add items that need to be replenished to your shopping list. Use my simple tip for organizing spices to track expiration dates on all kitchen items.

This is a great time to declutter your kitchen since you’ll be using it a lot the next two months with holiday meals and baking. You can tackle these kitchen decluttering tasks by devoting just 10 minutes for each task:

October is a busy month, but not as busy as the next two months will be. I take advantage of this month to do as much as I can to prepare for the joyful chaos that is the holiday season.   1. I like the idea of decluttering your kitchen so your all ready for the holidays. I have cleaned my blinds and baseboards recently, so at least I already have 2 items done on the list!

    1. I used to have my kids clean baseboards when they got in trouble. I was almost happy when they got in trouble. 🙂

    I couldn’t find where to print the Oct to do list. I was able to print
    the October checklist but not the monthly Oct. list. help?
