We all know that laughter is good medicine and after a long, dreary winter, laughter is a great way to shake off the winter blues. I enjoy playing harmless April Fool’s day jokes on my family and friends, with the emphasis on harmless. A prank is only fun if everyone laughs together. Luckily, I’m not the only one that prefers harmless pranks, so I’ve collected some of the best April Fool’s Day pranks for kids of all ages.

These April Fool’s Day jokes are perfect for both kids and adults. I want to stress that while these are harmless pranks, it’s important that the person you prank is able to understand that these are jokes and not real, so that the prank remains harmless. If in doubt, don’t play the prank.
I enjoy a great belly laugh shared with family and friends. I enjoy when someone plays a good prank on me just as much as I do playing pranks on others. It always surprises me how people can still be pranked on April Fool’s Day. I would think that everyone would be on guard and watching for pranks all day long, But business and life gets in the ways and people get distracted. It’s surprisingly easy to prank people on April first. I’ve found that pulling a prank is especially successful first thing in the morning because people are usually in a hurry and still a bit groggy. But really, any time of day is a good time for a good-natured prank.
There are fun pranks that use items you already have at home, last-minute pranks, and pranks that take a bit of planning. There’s a harmless prank for everyone.

Who will you surprise this year with good-natured and harmless April Fool’s Day Pranks for Kids?
Seana Turner says
My kids were pretty savvy, so it was hard to trick them when they were little. My best shot was to tell them something that was “plausible” when they were just waking up, such as they were late for a special meeting or there was something crazy in the yard.

It doesn’t surprise me that you’d have savvy children, Seana! 🙂 That’s why I think the morning is the best time for harmless pranks – they’re not at full power yet.
Sandy says
Though I hardly play a prank on kids, the ideas are really nice.

My kids are older, Sandy. 🙂 And they’ve grown up with my goofy sense of humor.
