Remember the sweater mittens I made?
After I was done cutting out the mittens, I just couldn’t bring myself to throw out the sleeves.
The sleeves were too narrow to use to make more mittens like I did with the sleeves from the pink sweater {here}. But I realized that the sleeves would fit a pair of ladies shoes. Since I have 2 teenage daughters, you can only imagine how many pairs of shoes we have to pack whenever we travel. I can always use more shoe bags.
So, ta da.
Shoe bags made from the left over sleeves from my mitten project.
I think I might have a secret repurposed shoe bag addiction. Remember these {here}?
Hmm, what do you think? Too many shoes or brilliant idea? Well, either way, I love repurposing AND keeping my clothes clean when I travel.

what a great creative idea.

I think this is a brilliant idea. I am ashamed to say that my shoes usually end up in Target or Walmart bags when I travel! I will have to remember this idea!
Thank for linkin gup to the In and Out of the Kitchen party! I can’t wait to see what you bring next week.

My shoes used to travel in plastic shopping bags, too, until my recently developed shoe bag addiction 😉

Ooh, that would be a nice bag for my dance shoes…
Susan@Organized31 says
Brilliant idea, Amy. But I’ll have to take up dancing or just stick to traveling.
Barb @ A Life in Balance says
Very cool! So much nicer than the plastic bags my dh used to pack his shoes during his last trip.
Thanks for linking up at Fabulously Frugal Thursday! Check back next week to see if you’re a featured post. We won’t be able to feature you if there’s no link back to the party.

Barb, my husband still prefers plastic shopping bags over “girly” cloth shoe bags. Go figure.
Sharon @ Elizabeth & Co. says
Very clever!

Definitely a cool idea!

Brilliant idea. I am packing shoes now and was wondering how to keep everything clean
Susan@Organized31 says
Gingermommy, I’m a slight germaphobe, especially about the bottoms of shoes … guess that explains the shoe bag obsession.
Jenn says
Wow! What a great idea! I might have to make some for my kiddos when we travel I hate putting their shoes in the suitcase with them all dirty.
Susan@Organized31 says
Jenn, I am so with you about hating to put dirty shoes in my suitcase. Give these a try. They’re super quick and easy to sew (even for me the non-seamstress!). It takes about 3 minutes max.
