Ever since my teen daughters started shopping at Urban Outfitters, I’ve been fascinated by the bags.
The bags have this great texture to them (that just doesn’t show up in photos). And the graphics are simple, just the way I like them. You can tell how wrinkled the cream colored bag is that I’ve holding onto it for a while trying to figure out what to do with it. Then last month, the purple bag came home and motivated me to figure out a great repurposing for these 2 bags. About this time, we went on vacation and I had to use plastic shopping bags to cover our shoes when packing out suitcases. I kept thinking how much I’d like to have cloth shoe bags, but there’s no way I was going buy a bag that’s only purpose is to contain dirt.
So, hmm…. How about turning these into shoe bags for a future vacation.
Step one – cut off the handles and cut the bag in half vertically.
Step two – sew up the open vertical seam.
Step three – insert shoes, sit back and smile.
Super easy. Super quick. Super hip (that’s me!). Super satisfying.
I’m a mom of 3, a veteran and military spouse. I’ve moved into 20+ homes all around the world. My passion is helping busy people make the space and time for what’s really important to them.
Today I’m able to share 3 of my favorite things with you; organizing, repurposing and crafting. I’m in such a happy place! I’ve tried so many different ways of organizing my necklaces. I felt a bit like Goldilocks – nothing was quite right. Then I remembered how much I (and my daughter) loved the repurposed…
Don’t remember what the occasion was when my kids got Mentos gum. But I do remember being intrigued by the cute little plastic containers. I kept the containers so I could figure out a way to repurpose them. The label was so easy to remove that I just knew each container was destined to…
A couple of weeks ago my friend, Karen, gave me a box of doggie breath mints that she thought my dog might like. Should I have been offended? Nah, all I saw was a crafting opportunity. I grabbed the Mod Podge and decorative paper and quickly got to work. After covering the top with the decorative paper, I thought…
Do you remember the cute fabric baskets I made last week? I sat and admired them for about 2 days, before I realized that I could use two of them for St. Patrick’s Day. How lucky (little St. Patrick’s Day pun) that I’d used green fabrics! I’ve been planning on sending 2 college care packages out…
