Ever since my teen daughters started shopping at Urban Outfitters, I’ve been fascinated by the bags.
The bags have this great texture to them (that just doesn’t show up in photos). And the graphics are simple, just the way I like them. You can tell how wrinkled the cream colored bag is that I’ve holding onto it for a while trying to figure out what to do with it. Then last month, the purple bag came home and motivated me to figure out a great repurposing for these 2 bags. About this time, we went on vacation and I had to use plastic shopping bags to cover our shoes when packing out suitcases. I kept thinking how much I’d like to have cloth shoe bags, but there’s no way I was going buy a bag that’s only purpose is to contain dirt.
So, hmm…. How about turning these into shoe bags for a future vacation.
Step one – cut off the handles and cut the bag in half vertically.
Step two – sew up the open vertical seam.
Step three – insert shoes, sit back and smile.
Super easy. Super quick. Super hip (that’s me!). Super satisfying.

Last weekend my son had a soccer tournament. That meant many hours outside in the great outdoors in June. I had grabbed the sunscreen from the bucket I have by our back door and thought I was prepared. But withing 10 minutes of setting up our homestead of chairs, cooler bag, canvas bag of snacks and…
I purchased a gold mine of crafting inspiration last week when I found a mixed bag of Jenga blocks at my local thrift store for $1.25. There’s something about repurposing those blocks that has become addictive. Today I’ll show you an easy kids’ craft making your own diy dominoes that would also make a great…
My eldest baby daughter went on a school trip to New York City last month. She was excited when she was able to squeeze a quick shopping trip to Zara into the very busy schedule they had. After about 2 weeks, I noticed that she kept the shopping bag from Zara sitting in…
