I love crafting, but I love crafting with friends even more. My friend, J., and I have a tradition of crating together. Unfortunately, we’ve both been very busy and it’s been a while since J. and I have gotten together to craft. The last time we did craft together, we decided to try patriotic mason jar craft ideas. We started with recycled jars and made this easy Mason jar craft project that is perfect for the 4th of July and any patriotic decor or party.
If you’re a friend of Organized 31, you know that I adore repurposed craft projects. I like giving recycled items a new life and I’m happy when I save an item from the landfill. J. and I used Mason jars, but you could use any recycled glass jar left over from your dinner preparations. You’ll need to thoroughly remove the label and glue before you get started.
Patriotic Mason Jar Craft Ideas
Colored Twine for embellishment
Use painter’s tape to mask off a pattern. You can make horizontal stripes or vertical stripes. Consider leaving some clear glass area when you plan your painting pattern. Simply paint the craft paint onto the glass. Use a combination of pouncing the paint onto the glass and painting it on for full coverage. Let the paint dry well. Add your coordinating twine and for just pennies you’ve created a rustic patriotic decoration.
You can use these patriotic mason jar craft ideas to hold party supplies or you could add votive candles and turn them into lanterns. No matter what you do with them, they add character to your festive and patriotic decor that’s perfect for the 4th of July or any patriotic occasion.
